Programs:

Valor, Fidelity, Sacrifice: The Life of a Soldier in World War II
The SOL certified two-hour program, entitled Valor, Fidelity, Sacrifice, provides students with hands-on experience inside their own classrooms.  Students examine the types of equipment worn by WWII soldiers, view artifacts from the period, and discover shortages found on the home front.  Programs are conducted by one of our highly skilled interpreters, all of whom are well trained and experienced in student interaction.  Additionally, we provide educators with an extensive packet with over 60 pages of pre- and post-visit materials including lesson plans on WWII, interdisciplinary activities, technology components, and detailed instructions for interviewing veterans.
Powers of Persuasion:  Propaganda in WWII
Discover how propaganda was used to influence the public and evoke powerful emotions on the war.  The program includes a slide show featuring numerous propaganda posters and hands-on activities on the effectiveness of propaganda in war-time.

NOTE:  To facilitate learning, our programs may require some special set-up in your classroom or other facility where the program is to be presented. Program needs may include tables, floor space, a projection screen, extension cord and/or access to an outlet. The Museums’ Education Department will contact educators or their representatives to make these arrangements in advance.
