Blue Star Family Memorial Garden, March 2012
The National D-Day
Memorial
Veterans Brick Campaign
In the summer of 2009, the Memorial laid out and planted two gardens that, when mature, will provide visitors additional shaded seating. Benches in both areas offer the immediate beauty of the surrounding plantings and the additional pleasure of a fine mix of perennials in the grounds across from them. Dedicated on Veterans Day 2009, these gardens recognize the service and sacrifice of families whose sons and daughters serve in the Armed Forces of the United States.
To further expand and interpret these areas, The National D-Day Memorial Foundation is privileged to announce the Veterans Brick Campaign. Friends and family members have the opportunity to honor their loved ones by sponsoring engraved bricks in one of the Memorial’s Family Gardens.
The inscribed bricks are a permanent tribute to men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. These lasting tributes are not limited to service in World War II and can encompass any service period. Placed prominently on the Memorial grounds, they will be viewed by thousands of visitors each year.
Each brick is not only an investment in the legacy of a loved one, but also an investment in the future of the Memorial. Proceeds from the brick campaign will assist the Foundation in maintaining the Memorial in 2012 and beyond. At a cost of $250 each, the bricks are an affordable way to give permanent recognition at the National D-Day Memorial.

Blue Star bricks can be sponsored in honor of or in memory of those who have served their country. These bricks will be placed in the Blue Star Memorial Garden on the west side of the Memorial, just outside Gray Plaza.

Gold Star bricks can be sponsored in memory of those who gave their lives in service to the United States of America. These will be placed in the Gold Star Memorial Garden on the east side of the Memorial.
Click here to print a brochure. Please carefully and accurately print your information on the form and return in to the Foundation. A limited number of bricks are available in each area. Please order soon to reserve a space. Due to logistical concerns, please allow us to choose the exact location of your brick within the respective garden. The National D-Day Memorial Foundation is looking forward to this latest project and to honoring the men and women of our Armed Forces for their selfless service and sacrifice.
(Brick sponsorships are 100% tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations. Duplicate keepsake bricks can be purchased for an additional $50 each, of which $25 is tax-deductible. Orders can be placed by checking the box on the coupon).
