Is there any advantage to coming in a group?
Yes, besides the camaraderie of sharing together in your D-Day Memorial experience, you also may be eligible for a complimentary walking tour at no additional cost.

What if my tour group can only travel on Mondays?
No problem. Though the Memorial is closed on Mondays, we still allow tour groups with reservations to enter the site by appointment. We are just not open to the general public. A two week minimum notice is still necessary.

What do I need to do if my group wants to reserve a tour at the National D-Day Memorial?
First, decide on both a date and a specific hour for your planned tour. Next, make sure your group will have at least 15 members on the date and time you have selected. Groups with 15 or more patrons receive a complimentary guided walking tour included with the price of their regular admission fee, provided they have made a reservation at least two weeks in advance of their anticipated arrival. Finally, call 1-866-219-6900 to make your reservation.

What if I have less than 15 people in my group?
There is a flat fee of $100.00 for any groups numbering less than 15 patrons. You may find that for the price of the admission and the tour this is a better bargain than waiting until the day you come to take a tour. The daily walking tours on the site are scheduled once an hour beginning at 10:30 AM with the last tour beginning at 3:30 PM.

Groups who have scheduled a tour in advance.
Please arrive at the Bedford Area Welcome Center 20 minutes early to check-in, use the facilities, and join up with your tour guide at the Memorial. Contact us as soon as possible if you see that your party will be arriving late. Groups arriving more than 15 minutes late without advance notification will forfeit their guide and any reserved shuttle carts. Please call this number to notify the Memorial of a late arrival – 540-587-5681.

If you are traveling in a group of 15 or more, please designate one person responsible for payment procedure.
One payment is required for the entire group.

Unscheduled tour groups should arrive 20 minutes prior to the Memorial’s scheduled walking tours.  It takes approximately 20 minutes to purchase your tickets, register, use the facilities, and join up with the tour guide at the Memorial. Because the Memorial conducts timed walking tours, you face a significant delay if you miss your tour time.

WALKING TOUR SCHEDULE:
10:30AM      11:30AM      12:30PM     1:30PM      2:30PM              3:30PM

Do you have any mobility assistance available?
Should you need mobility assistance for members of your party who are disabled, we do have a limited number of wheelchairs available at no cost, or you may reserve one of our five-passenger shuttle carts for an additional $30.00 each. Reserved tours are limited to a maximum of 2 shuttle carts, based on availability. Since the availability of these carts may be limited, please plan your trip well in advance.

The National D-Day Memorial is an outdoor experience, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable to the weather.

What do we do if it’s raining?
Because the memorial is an outdoor facility, remind your guests to consult weather forecasts in deciding on warm, wet, or cool weather attire. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats are recommended during sunny weather.

Plan your visit to experience the National D-Day Memorial at its best.
April thru October are particularly favorable times to visit the Memorial. The temperatures are warmer, the fountains are working, and many of the gardens are in bloom.
