Moved by his visit to the Memorial when he served as the keynote speaker for the D-Day commemoration in 2017, Capt. Yellin joined the Memorial’s Honor, Learn, Serve capital campaign as an honorary chair. Later that year, one of Yellin’s final interviews was recorded at the Memorial just months before his death.
It was his hope that the Memorial would grow to even better fulfill its mission with the addition of an education center.
