Mission: Gratitude

Of the 150,000+ servicemen and women who participated in the invasion, only a handful remain.  The opportunity to thank these men and women for their service while they still walk among us, while they can experience our thanks and appreciate it, will soon be lost.

Mission: Gratitude is a tangible way that students can be involved in the observance of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day at the National D-Day Memorial.  Be creative and thank our nation’s heroes as a part of the 75th anniversary of D-Day through videos, songs, cards, street light banner designs, photos, and more. Submissions will be displayed at the Memorial during the commemoration: June 5-9, 2019.

Guidelines for Submissions:

  • Submissions must be digital and in one of the following formats:
    • MP3 for Audio Files
    • MP4, WMV, AVI for Video Files
    • JPEG, PNG or PDF for Image and Text Files
  • If a student would like to submit a design for a street light banner, the dimensions are 2 ft by 3 ft, 600 px by 900 px, or a 2:3 ratio in portrait format
  • Students may submit work individually or in groups, but no more than one entry per person will be accepted
  • Only submissions from K-12th grade aged students will be considered
