During WWII, tens of thousands of American airmen were held in German POW camps. Many received from the YMCA and the Red Cross a blank journal called “A Wartime Log” to record their thoughts, paste photos, or preserve sketches. Sgt. Robert Folk was one such prisoner; his journal, now in the D-Day Memorial collection, gives an important glimpse into life in a German Stalag. Director of Education John D. Long will reveal, for the first time publicly, what Folk’s unique vision can teach us.
