SUMMARY:Bedford Boys Tribute Center Courthouse Bell Ringing Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:This annual public remembrance of the “Bedford Boys” will take place on the West Lawn of the Bedford County Courthouse (123 E Main St\, Bedford)\, where the community gathered in 1954 to mark the 10th anniversary of D-Day with the unveiling of a memorial stone. \nThe ceremony culminates with the ringing of the courthouse bell 20 times\, once for each “Bedford Boy” killed on D-Day. \nThe bell will begin tolling precisely at 6:44PM (to represent June 6\, 1944.) \n  \nPhoto caption: Mary Daniel “Danny” Parker (daughter of Earl Parker)\, 11\, at the Normandy stone memorial unveiling outside the Bedford County Courthouse on June 6\, 1954.
