The National D-Day Memorial joins museums nationwide in the Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that provides free admission to currently-serving U.S. military personnel and their families. The 2024 season runs Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 16, 2026 to Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026. The Memorial is open daily, 10AM-5PM. The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force, members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. The Blood Connection Blood Drive

National D-Day Memorial 3 Overlord Circle, Bedford, VA, United States

Blood donors help save lives today, just as they did in World War II.  Be part of this tradition and support the National D-Day Memorial by giving blood at an on-site blood drive. The Blood Connection, the non-profit blood provider locally for Carilion Clinic, will donate $10 for each blood donation collected to the Memorial. As a thank you, each donor will receive $60 in rewards. Donors must be at least 16 years with signed permission, weigh at least 110 pounds, have a valid ID, and be in general good health. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will be honored first....

No Excuse Night

Never been to the National D-Day Memorial? Haven’t been in a while? Come celebrate the Memorial's 25th anniversary with a look at our latest additions and hear about future plans! This free, extended-hours event is held annually during the national Spirit of ’45 weekend to commemorate the end of World War II. Docents will be stationed throughout the Memorial to share information with guests. No tickets or registration required. Rain or shine. Memorial site will be cleared for potentially severe weather approaching.
